A huge plant for these parts. Maybe eight inches tall,
slightly drooping leaves four inches across with seven ribs on the back.
The inside of the base of the stalk is purple. A few seeds stems completes the picture.
Plantain is supposed to be nutritious with a pleasant taste to the leaves and seeds.
Seeing as it is dog leg high and in dog walking territory it won't get the taste test🤐 'til home and washed.
The best part is it is on public land.
Transplanting/harvesting will wait until early morning as,
it is amazing how some people will value something valued by others,
even though it had no value to them before.🙄 The annual August falling star show,
is in full swing so an early morning venture was in the works anyway.
There are a few sad insect eaten leaves that,
will get trimmed and used for a first tincture try.
Likewise the seeds and stems will get harvested and eaten.
It has been suggested this will tell the roots to get ready to grow.🤔
For the now a bottle of water will get poured around to loosen the soil.
Vermiculite as a soil treatment is not feasible so something else will get tried.
There is a huge bag of marbles sitting on a shelf. Marbles are glass,
glass is made from stone, stone is fairly inert. The heavy clay soil,
on my island will have marbles tossed in the pot to stop it from compacting.
The potted Plantain will sit in my backyard next to the neighbor's pot plants.
It is hoped there is no cross pollination or contact high.😶
In the early Fall before hunting season my pot not the neighbor's pot🙄will get moved indoors.
The neighbor's can harvest their stunted grass and do whatever with it.
It is hoped their meager harvest will keep them docile, immobile and out of my backyard.

Do you think the Marbles will work?
