My wife and I made the long trip from Texas to Lake Benton, Minnesota and we had a great time. There was the Knap In, Rendezvous, and Lake Benton Festival with music, corn boil, buffalo stew, Native American dancers and a Pickers Antique sales area too. It was 48 degrees early one morning and despite a little light rain and clouds the weather couldn't have been better. Jake King had a nice selection of rock for sale and so did Butch Seidel (sp). Deb and Rip Riley made the trip up from Oklahoma with a nice display of her arrowhead t-shirts for sale. I sat and knapped with Chris Chitwood from Gillette, Wyoming, Chris had his finely crafted silver jewelry for sale also. I look forward to attending next year, it was a fun time.
The first picture is a blade I made from a slab I got from Jim Hopper this spring, it's Oregon Agate I think he told me. Nice material and makes a pretty point.
