alot has been said about tools, weapons, hunting, gathering, even growing things. very little is ever mentioned on how to keep one clean. hygiene is important as for keeping your chompers chomping, keeping healthy, keeping your body clean, keeping your hair free of critters . for those of you that have hair anyhow.in the past ive used the heat from a fire to make me sweat. rinsed in a river. used a clay slip to scour myself. rinsed off. and used dried leaves as a form of deoderant.even used the roots of lambs quarters to wash with. i read about sweat lodges being used in the past. before soap, what all was used? . many times i forgot a toothbrush and tooth paste out camping. i hate when i do that. but a stick i chew on to use as a brush has worked in the past.a few mint leaves and ahhh so fresh lol. ive made deer tallow and wood ash soap in the past a handfull of times. its been hit or miss. some times it does come out hard. sometimes it works. sometimes it leaves ya greasey. sometimes it comes out like soft soap. sometimes that works. sometimes it leaves you greasey.lol so what was used? prior to soap.toothpaste.or shampoo?
