I have tried a few times to replicate the Tribute points and cannot get them thin enough or flaked right. Can anybody give me any hints how they made them so thin, and how they shot the edge flakes across the surface? I can make a fairly thin point, but my edges are fine tuned with short flakes. How did they shoot long flakes across the surface without breaking them? I am also dumbfounded as to how their final flakes are those long flakes. Not only could they beat my thinness by a long shot, but their final edges were perfectly straight from tiny thinning flakes.
What type of stone were they using? Is that part of the secret? How did they support those extremely thin points without breaking them?
My attempts are about 2-3 times as thick as theirs. These examples of my work are about 1.25-2.0 inches long. I need some serious critique.
