I've got a bit of seasoned mulberry laying around that I was hoping to make a bow from. Bow making is a lot harder than I had anticipated and my selection in staves was poor so I'll be looking for better wood before resuming that project.
With some of the seasoned mulberry from last year I've cut out and roughly shaped a piece of a stave for an atlatl. It's at 24" now which is only about 3" shy of fingertips-to-armpit length.
Any suggestions for where to go from here for my first design?
I happened across this atlatl: http://paleoplanet69529.yuku.com/topic/30505/A-I-T-H-build-along?page=1#.UE3wKrJlT5Y and I really liked the simplicity behind the corded button on the grip. Seems like it would be pretty accommodating to different grip styles.
