Posts: 814 Feb 12 12 12:49 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None I found a local person who can cut rock here, where I live. I have access to tons of translucent, and banded, stone. Here are some examples that were cut by two different rock cutters. The banded piece was cut with a water-fed, Dewalt saw. Also, if the rock is cut into slabs, I can get it shipped through the postal system, to the U.S. The other day, when I checked, I was quoted a price of under $3 dollars, for shipping a slab. If anyone is interested in slabs of translucent, or other exotic stone, let me know.

Also, this should be an interesting experiment, in the marketplace. The last time, I think I offered the stone at $1.00 a pound - or best offer. Nearly 400 people looked at the stuff. Yet, there was not a peep from anyone. So, I sent it to the U.S. And, instead of getting a $1.00 a pound, a slabber paid $5.00 a pound, and $4.00 a pound - for the same stone. After he cut the stone, I have no idea how much he re-sold the stone to flintknappers for. So, I am very curious to see how the "rock marketplace" works. Definitely, it came as a great surprise to see people willing to pay $4.00, and $5.00, a pound, for rock that I almost could not give away, here on Paleoplanet.
