Posts: 4632 Sep 6 11 6:12 AM Administrator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	If I remember correctly, only a couple people here have ever made high-weight bowstrings from yucca or agave, that survived for more than a day or two. In my experience, these fibers are a little bit too weak and/or coarse for good bowstrings, but you might be able to find someone who'd like to try. If you want to try twining one up yourself, I'd be happy to send you some yucca leaves, which grow by the millions here.... Lots of natural fibers will make a nice tough string: linen and hemp work great, as do sinew and rawhide (animal "fibers"). I got hold of some leaves a while back and have made and used a couple of strings from them. I agree with orien m that yucca fibers aren't the strongest out there but you can get a servicable string.
