I was showing a friend at work pictures of my bows when he mentioned he had a burn pile full of pecan wood. He invited me to his house to pick through it and this is what I came away with. It is 52 inches long, with lots of reflex to it. Fairly dry already, but it suprised me by checking some overnight after removing the back and trimming the ends. Luckly, it checked right down the side where I was going to remove wood anyways. I put my K Bar to it and was able to split the branch in half with just my weight. It split perfectly, right where I wanted it to. I have roughed it out in the last two hourse and here is my progress. I have some bug damage on the back, thinking about going down a ring or two to get away from the bug damage. If not then I will raw hide back it.
