This first one is pecan, about 48" and fairly light (for one of my 9 year olds).
I think I am in danger of hinging (or just plain snapping) on the handle side of both mids. Upper is worse. This bow is spooking me in general. The wood just doesn't seem bendy, if that makes any sense.
But the hackberry is way bendy. This next one is something that was scrap and maybe still is. A poor split gave me this stave. There are chunks ripped out of the belly on both ends from the way it split. There are some big knots. But I decided to use it for tillering practice before tossing it since I haven't used hackberry before.
