The "crusties" that you see on the blade at the handle is superglue. I used it to seal and bring out the colors on the micarta and I dont want to scrape it too much and mess up the bluing. Thanks for looking.

A buddy of mine wanted me to make him a bowie for his next deployment. Here is what I came up with. The blade is 1/4" inch thick steel that I found, the
handle is homemade micarta. I quenched it in water and cold blued the blade.
