Cree Hunters of the Mistassini |

Here are some very interesting videos showing Cree families living in
the boonies. Its a mix of old and new, not entirely "primitive", but, none the less, amazing stuff. There are several other videos on this site worth
viewing such as Cesars Bark Canoe where an Indian fellow in his sixtys builds an incredible birch bark canoe. Enjoy! Cree Hunters

Did they win the court battle? Are these the same people who now run Nunavut?

Those are not the same people who run Nunavut, this was filmed in Northern Quebec, roughly 2000 miles East (and a bit south) of Nunavut. As for the court
battle for these individual people I am not sure, however the hydro electric dams have all been put in place, so I am guessing things did not fare so well. I
have to be careful here due to the "no politics" rule, so I cannot comment very much here. If anyone here reads any Canadian newspapers or watches
any Canadian news you will often hear about the welfare of the Northern Ontario and Quebec Native peoples, to say the least, it is not good news. It is also
not news that makes the "headlines", when many of the stories probably should. I really wish I could say more, but it is definitely politics! All I
can say is it is very sad news indeed.
