Not blunts, field points! I thought about cutting a circular piece of metal, cutting a slot through the radius and kind of wrapping the metal around the tip of the shaft?
Thanks,
Johnny

Hey there everybody. I haven't built any arrows yet but I was thinking about something. Do any of you know how to make homemade field points?

The is a method to make conical points out of thin metal. I know it it covered in one of the Primitve Archer articicles. The metal it cut in a certain shape
and rolled in a cone typically with the help of a vice meal cone and hammer.

I have this untested idea: wires used in construction, thick as a shaft, sharpened to a point on one side, and filed to a tang on the other?
Buttercup: We'll never survive.
Westley: Nonsense. You're only saying that because no one ever has. "The Princess Bride" |

Concrete nails! that's a great idea Ralph. Looks like you're forging or grinding the head end thinner to fit in the slot?
