He has been kind enough to let my take it to a show this weekend as an example of our custom bags. So this is his sneak preview. Please don't look too close at the beadwork. Points and corners are a challenge for me.(I would welcome any how to advice.) I usually do round flower like stuff, however, I thought a compass rose would be more fitting for him. The color is really washed out in the first pic. The second and third pics are more true to color. Hopefully it is a little but mighty bag. lol weaverpa

I took more photos of the quiver and the pouch, which I received from Chuck and I'm sure you will enjoy them. Just to add: the quiver is made of beaver with bobcat tails, and the pouch has ermine tails. It is such a beauty!!! I posted in the Archery forum about the quiver. Enjoy! Well, I searched the Net about some Indian motives and found this NA Owl drawing. Did the best interpretation I could and cut it from colored leather pieces Meanwhile I showed Eric some of my previously made bow socks and he advised I better use the sewing machine not that much . And then I received a wonderful surprise from him! A pouch (finished with that fancy breading he showed in the tutorial thread above) full with all needles I may use to start learning, an awl, a spool with artificial sinew, a spool linen thread and a small leather to-be-a-flask (to exercise and finish it) and a wonderful fire fire striker, made by Mike Ameling. Once again - thank you so much Eric!!!! So I decided to change the initially thought design and sew it by hand, using the new needles I received. I'm a beginner and I have a lot to learn. Chuck's fantastic quiver with the pouch taught me a lot! I hope next time I'll cope better Iliana

I didn't have any spare or I would have sent you one. A piece of brush handle will do, with a 1.5cm length of 15mm copper or brass pipe hammered into the endgrain. Then whittle the handle down until the piece of pipe is exposed and force the awl into the end. That way the handle won't split. Eric Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may never incur!

I have been meaning to make a small leather sewing pouch for some time. For some reason I love Kits that come in pouches. What size is the small leather flask? There's always odd corners where I can squeeze a flask or two out of. The even smaller bits get turned into small straps for attaching buckles to bags and rucksacks. Sometimes when people ask if they can have my leather scraps to play with, and I say I don't have any scraps, I don't think they believe me. Anyway, I don't know the volume of the flask, but I do know the Wicca and Pagan community love them and can't get enough of them. They use them for their potions to hang around their necks. If I tool a pentangle on the front, I can get twice as much for it. Eric Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may never incur!
