In attempting to make my first branch flute from sumac, I've run into a question about the dividing wall between the two air chambers. The large center pith runs right through it and is already looking damaged. No doubt it will allow air to pass. I'm thinking of just taking it out completely and replacing it with glue / pitch / sawdust mixed with glue. Was wondering what others do when making branch flutes with large central piths. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
