He is a very good friend of mine and plenty of others. For those of you who don't know him he gave Jim Redfearn his first abrading lesson, and Jim has been knapping 34 years. So he's been around for awhile. He's not a member of this forum or any other forum. He doesn't even own a computer. He is although well known and respected in the knapping community. You may have seen his name mentioned before.
He makes his living flintknapping and by working with his hands. About a month ago, he was cutting wood when a tree fell and he didn't get out of the way in time. A branch caught his left thumb just under his knuckle and nearly ripped it off. He's been fighting infection ever since. He still doesn't know if he's going to be able to keep his thumb or not. He could be out of work for another couple of months.
Joe Stevens (aztecstoneandflint) will be helping with questions, especially when I'm not around. Or you could call me with any questions you have. 918 781 2649
He is not aware of this fund raising event, and I would like it to remain a surprise for him.
We will be holding an auction of donated items on a temporary sub-forum at the top of the page. here. Of course we will accept all cash donations also.
I am going to start it off by donating $100 and I'm also going to auction off the two points from my first youtube videos.
The auction will end in two weeks.....July 13 midnight. I would like all proceeds to be made out and mailed to me either in cashier's check or money order form. Also, it will be the responsibility of the owner of a donated item to mail it directly to the winner. The proud "new" owner should then mail a check directly to me.......this will save confusion.
And remember, it's not the value of the item that's important when your bidding.......your money will be doing a good deed, so overbid frequently.

Also, not every knapper is on Paleoplanet, so please tell others and ask for donations. I would like this to be a big success.
