Any Primitive women out there? |
Lead | |
|
This topic has been up 100 times I'm sure. It can get kind of lonely out there and a bit busy too, considering that women and men has different
specialities (I'm not saying we can't do both). What about a personals section?

I'm a primitive woman, but I'm married. My husband doesn't get it, but I don't get his obsession with TV either. My children love going on
primitive forays with me. We are out there, we are the ones who aren't afraid to get dirty or break a nail. We just live quietly. When I was single I
tended to get far more attention from the male half of the population than I wanted. I do medieval re-enactment and at events I would get a minimum of two and
as many as seven serious offers for "bedwarming" every night. I'm no great looker, I'm a chunky 30 something with average looks and
practical not sexy dresser. Even now that I'm married with toddler in tow I get an offer every now and then. I'm not a male hater, in fact I enjoy
watching the male half of the population, but there aren't a lot of males out there who think beyond one night stand. It gets old. I do stone and bone
and woodcarving. I do a multitude of fibercrafts and fiber dyeing. My husband says no tanning unless we live somewhere I can put it far from the house. I
will admit with a family I tend to get too busy to socialize much.

Thanks for your reply. I hope I'm not putting out an ad for myself... BUT there are guys who are interested in a long term relationship. Though probably
not many that are younger than 25 (can't think of more than a handful). Once they've understood that chasing after new women all the time is
unfullfilling, they will often change. I believe though that this applies to the modern woman to an almost equal degree as with the man (except the chasing).

I tried to start a paleo dating site. Didn't work out (the program I did it with pulled profiles from other dating sites with the same program, so the
"matches" often were as un-paleo as you could get).
Eventually I might try that again, after my brain gets fixed. |

Cool.
Btw, have you tried to eat a lot of burdock? I don't want to give medical advice, so use your own judgement, but burdock is supposedly quite detoxing.

Being a people watcher, I've seen just as many women hunting for one night stands as the men. Sometimes they are scarier than the men ;-) I'm married now but I sure wished then I could figure out a way to wade through to the guys who were serious. To be honest the best way I found to find a like minded person was to do what I was interested in-I do medieval re-enactment, as a viking age Norse and just hang around with other like minded people and make friends of both genders. I made a lot of good friends and just happened to find my husband along the way. I don't know of any Paleo get togethers here in Washington State but the ones I hear about sure sound like a lot of fun. Ingvildr |

You really need to get the dating site up and ready. I may need it soon, lol.

For the lonely ones seeking a partner to share life and include a mutual enjoyment of primitive skills, I recommend attending the largest gathering of our
people at the Stone Tool Craftsman Show in Letchworth State Park of New York State this August. There will be many people with interests that you share. Should
you find someone and begin a friendship, I will be there and offer free harmonious relationship spells. Your thumbs will be briefly fastened and I will tell
you an important key that is too overlooked by too many and this will help you grow the heart flower.

I'm lucky enough to be in a relationship with one!! @_@ What were the odds of that? She is interested in her Native Ancestry (Chippewa (Canadian) and
Bodéwadmi ((Pottawatomi)) Natives) and is...shall we say amendable to learning the skills (and Ojibwa Language, if she can...) and doing ever increasing
"Paleo-adventuring" with me. Now isn't that just luck??

Greyson,
I was your age and living in southern Maine in the late 60's. I met a wonderful and exotic Ogunquit, Native American girl. A sweet memory that I still dream of is her knee length beautiful hair and her soft whispering voice. She wanted to marry immediately and I thought we were too young. My friends and family pressured me saying that all the Ogunquit girls just wanted to marry a boy from my college and leave home. Many times, I have regretted my decision, we were in love. I miss her and wish you more. Gary Abbatte

That is sad. Thank you. In a way, it's because of her that I've gotten really into the Primitive thing.

It gets lonely being a primitive woman who wants other primitive women to be friends with, too. There are so few of us, I'm incredibly lucky to have found
my clan- the women actually outnumber the men right now. Well, not counting the kids, there are three little boys. But a personals website would be a good
idea, and one with an option of looking for friends too would be even better. I don't have the technical skills or electricity to create or maintain
something like that though...

I'm a semi-paleo girl (early 20s). I'm completely interested in everything paleo, but don't have the time or resources to try everything I want, so
I stick mostly with what I started with: leather and beadwork since I was 14. I can't even find any paleo-friends to go to events with, much less a
paleo-guy who would be interested in me. It's rather annoying when I walk around the streets with my small medicine bag around my neck and people ask me if
I store cocaine in it! I get those sorts of comments especially from my peers.
I would love to join a site for meeting people in my area. I think it would be really successful!
