Hey John,
My name is Tom and the wood billets are mine. They are N.C. Dogwood, from clearcut areas. If you could imagine a natural progression from hammer stone to copper to antler to wood, you could imagine how it might feel. It likes a sharper platform, and it likes shiny materiel, like Texas or obsidian. It makes very thin flakes that really follows the contours of the stone. Wood tools need to be kept away from moisture like antler tools. |

Thanks for the photos. It is good to see Jack Holland again. Have not seen him since the early 90s. Wish I could have made this one. Tell Are and Scott to get out the good normanskill. Thanks again. |

I bought my fair share of Normanskill, a large piece 17.5 lbs and a half dozen spalls each over a pound. I want to know this famous rock better, this is my
first taste. The auction was great fun, I got a friction fire bow drill set and a very good lesson from Bill Hawker. Got fire my first try with the excellent
materials including a Yucca spindle. The kit is visible in the pic Eric took above of me at my table. Won an auction of a large amount of bone beads too. Tim
Jackson was so friendly, He personally showed Mary and I around the whole place and helped us select a camping spot; then on top of it, I told him I have never
seen Bald Eagle Jasper and asked him if anybody he knew had some I could just look at. He gave me 5 good size flakes from his truck !!!!! I also performed one
harmonious relationship spell in my new Oogabooga Shaman Practice. I met miflinty and WML and a bunch of others. Michael's kanpping is awesome, I had
thought he was older, he is younger than both of my boys. I met new people and invited them to join the fun here on Paleoplanet.
Eric--on the job.
Tim Jackson calling the auction with the friction fire kit and free lesson from Bill Hawker (I won!) On the far left is Daniel White, he does the fantastic and impossible looking micro-knapping under his stereo microscope. Very talented. Rhymes

Hi guys,
Eric, thanks for all the great pictures! Bald Eagle was great fun this year. I had a wonderful time meeting new people, learning new things, and building stronger friendships. I took a few pictures but, thought I'd let you guys drool a little and post these killer PA Jasper points!
Good chipping, Michael |
