Where were you looking? The most recent addtion (2007 Edition 10) is readily available for half the price you mention.

Check out abebooks.com They have all kinds of rare, hard-to-find, and new books from sellers all across the world. I have gotten dozens of books off there in
the last seven years or so. I just saw Overstreets 10th edition for $18 on there (plus shipping). Hope this helps.
