Pork ribs that have been cooked then shattered and scraped on the concrete. I've rounded off the square small one since the photo.
I used a drill bit (by hand, I know that's still cheating) to make the holes.
I've used them to sew up the rawhide rattle and a couple of other projects. I actually prefer them now, so that I don't go steal my wife's steel needles.
The large ones are for weaving and moving cordage in drums.
