Nick did u mesaured that bow? Looks prety fast with that heavy arrow. Give it a try for flight with some lighter flight arrows.
First I saw the film without sound, but after I hear it it was frenetic. Like those sound! I use smaller faders, for this tistance shoots and they doesent make so much voice. (but fly farer Somethimes thinking about why English archers use so big faders, don't know yet. Mongolians have nearly the same sized arrows and use very flat long faders. The big (high) fader reduce distance and speed. May be that voice is the answer? |

HaHa Jaro! I know what you're talking about. Been lifting weight 4 times a week, for a 1,5 year now, and went back to twice a week as my school results got
worse
thanks Boris! get one! Nick |

I like that video Nick! Looks like some good shooting.
I thought I was nuts for shooting "heavy" hunting bows of 70-80# (and you and I are quite similiar in weight and stature). Kudos

I m still thinking that we make the fletching way higher than at least some of it was, but these arrows are so heavy that they need lots of fletch to
stabilise. Longer and flatter is better though. When man shoots at target which is closer distance, it becomes very obvious - that these big fletchings
stabilise it quickly.
But both BLBS Standart arrow and John Holder challenge have prescribed height of fletch as a means of prevention of sporterisation of equipment and keeping the bows at certain weight, rather than constant "improving" of arrows - which is in my understanding similar to means the Tudors employed to prevent likewise sporterisation of bows and keeping the equipment mil-spec. Fusizoli - do you have some ancient mongolian arrow specs, when we talk about that? Could you post that in "Arrows" section? I should ask my uncle
about those in ulanbatar museum he photographed back in 70´when shootin archery competetion there....
Nick - it certainly isnt funny, at least it wasnt when I injured myself. But if you shoot 110# regulary, it is likely you wont get injured now. I would be carefull with more weight intil your bones ossify completelly. Well, the bow I made went to new owner today. Jaro |

thanks fusizoli! I think Jaro pretty much answered your question
thanks Kegan! 70-80pounds really is pretty much for hunting bows Jaro, these are indeed more or less based on the BLBS livery arrows, exept from the fletch binding, and horn inserts. Nick |

I think the good relase is the most important. On my heavy arrows from dogwood 1000 grain the bigger ones 32-34 long and 500 the smaller ones 28 long. Pingeon
and wild turkey fader on tham under a half high and shootable from short distance too from a 90 strong bow. 25m
Sound is nearly nothing. http://vegyes.fusizoli.fotoalbum.hu/viewlarge/pictureid/6530955 Two weeks ago we have a "probe" not race just a war imitation. 200 shoot between 240-50 meters . We shoot from 9 to 19 oclock. It was great. 50 people there with 10 arrows from every distance (10) With that size fader shurely couldn't shoot the 240m with an 500 grain arrow. And there was 2 hits on the soldgier target from that distance! I used 475 grain 31 long pine arrows with pingeon faders 3 long and 0.4 high. We have strong opposite wind , my arrows felt down 10meters before the target zone from 240m. This was my first this kind of distance shooting, the bigest target distance was 120m before. |

fusizoli - the equipment mongols make and use today is based on chinese bows and uncomparable to bows and arrows of mogol invasion, thus my original question.
I used 475 grain 31 long pine arrows with pingeon faders 3 long and 0.4 high. - That is more like flight arrows fletch then.... J.

Cool arrows you made. You may want to wrap the point of feathers in order to avoid any problem. dutchwarbow wrote:I had your arrow. It was deeply stuck in the chinese satellite that crashed in front of my home. Thanks.

Nice work Nick! Wraping before the nock if u didn't put horn in it. This strong bows should split the nock.

bruno, that's called chinese quality huh... putting a 'made in china' stamp on every inch of it but don't even look at the protection against
bodkin tipped arrows... Hope you can get the arrow out of that messy bunch of non-hardened steel and put it somewhere it belongs
fusizoli, my bow is indeed ought to split these, but it somehow refuses to do so Boris, enjoy making it! and especially, enjoy shooting it! Warbows seem to embrace you once you shoot them Nick |

AWESOME! Nice shooting Jaro and Nick! I'm completely jealous. I haven't had time to peruse the planet in the past month or so(work school, yada yada
yada). It's good to see and hear what you guys are up to (f--king awesome twang, thank you audio). I thought I saw a couple Simon Stanleys out there.
One criticism, you didn't show yourselves hitting the road sign from 240 yards
