Another thread raised the idea of a tree or network depicting who learned knapping from whom. Apparently, John Whitaker has one such tree in one of his books.
While Paleoplanet may not be able to accomodate a graphic tree presentation of this type, we could all post our names and whom we have learned knapping from.
Since many of us have probably had more than one teacher, it would be a good idea to separately list (1) your first teacher, (2) the teacher you have had the
most lessons from, and (3) all other significant teachers. I'll start.
Mike Lynn: (1) My first teacher of pressure flaking was someone whose name I do not remember. My first teacher of percussion was Steve Nissly. (2) Most of my lessons have been from Steve Nissly and Bruce Boda (it is tie between them). (3) Other face-to-face teachers I have had include Mike McGrath, Ken Wallace, and Garrick (last name???). Video teachers include Bohunter, Woody Blackwell, DC Waldorf, Jim Winn, and Mark Bracken.
