We had -17 degrees F. a couple of days ago, with the high temp at only -2 degrees. That is in Illinois. Our temps today will be in the mid twenties, so about
normal. The sun is shining, there is snow cover; a perfect day for a hike with my dogs.

In Durham it's 4 degrees C. That's about 39.2 Fahrenheit. It's been well below freezing of late, but still not cold enough for me not to go to
bed naked. When I have to wear jim-jams I know it's cold outside.

It's been about 80 degrees the past few days here in So. California. It' gets cold at night though. Last night I had to wear socks to bed. It was about
50 degrees. Brrrrrrr!
Sorry...I can't help it. I grew up in NY and went to college up near Buffalo NY...right in the snow belt. So I know where you guys are at and what it's like to deal with cold. I've been out here for 20 years so I'm spoiled now! Tom |

It was down past -30 F a couple days (nights) ago, here in Tropical East-Central Minnesota; the high temp was about -10 F that day -- and the car wouldn't
start because of the cold...that was Thursday, or "food shelf day" for the month of January. The thermometer doesn't register lower than -30
F..... Today's high was about +25 or +30 F (not sure, really - I didn't write it down). Right now -- 1:35 AM, 19 Jan, 2009 -- the thermometer says 0 F.
My snow boots have rubber lowers, and the rubber freezes in our Tropical Warmth. My boots are wrapped in silver, insulating duct-tape.........

It was Minus 35 one dark time last week ...south of Minnesota here in Iowa..actually was 40 below in north central Iowa.... & with the wind chill factor...
Its was colder n a witches t** !
Thankfully..... It has warmed up some .I was not prepared to freeze dry some deer hides though as I'd been having turck problems ..and all my spare time was used up with mechanical problems and shoveling snow drifts.... My thermometer registers... 33 right now..overcast..more snow is predicted. and no more below zero in the near future....Yeah!!! I think it was Saturday ..that was 50 degrees warmer than the day before with a Sat high of about 35...but it did not feel that much warmer cause the wind was terrible Saturday....and I thought it felt colder than friday ..... Right now my back patio thermometer reads 88 F. Yea I know! But come Aug. and its been over a 100 F for sixty days you might understand!

I'm in Daytona Beach. We had a frost, with a few areas of freezing weather over night. A bit of ice on the birdbath, but probably high 30s when I went out
for a walk. It feels about sixty now, after midday.
We really need a few more nights of freezing to keep down our bugs though. It's just really hard on the citrus growers and on the homeless. |

Today it is quite nice, with it being -12 C but it is early morning. it will warm up to about -4 C. it has been as cold as -30 C 2 weeks ago and I am sure it
will be again.
BTW I am in Montreal Canada.
