Where is a good place to find a good starter bow? I make very little money and would like to get into primitive archery. I am not looking for anything fancy, just a bow that shoots good and could last me awhile. Some places I see starter bows for sale are still pretty pricey. Thanks

If people want to add other tension-strong woods, please do so.

Posts: 905 (12/31/08 3:57 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I used the First Wooden Bow instruction listed above to make my first bow from a red oak board I got at Home Depot for $8. I think I bought the string for that one for something like $10, but I have since learned to make my own (B50 and linen). I made a handle from deer skin. I still have that bow, and it still shoots well. Take your time starting out, and I'm sure you'll have a good, usable bow when you're done. I know I spent so much time tillering the first one, it's probably one of the better bows I've ever done.
