During practice last week (or I guess the week before), my Osage bow "It" , which I've been shooting for two hunting seasons and was in my third
3D season, gave a little groan on the first shot. I didn't really think the scarey noise could be from my beloved first Osage bow but I gave it a glance
over, and saw nothing amiss and the shot had been spot on. As I drew for my second shot, "It" groaned twice, most pitiousy. I let down without
releasing, and looked again....

Thanks, Ken. I don't think that a second repair would last even as long as the first. A different, major repair, in my understanding, would change the bow
too much for it to be worth it to me I think. So, it'll stay a wall decoration, with memories, for now at least. The "Robin Hood" is my one and
only one ever and I did do it with one of my traditional bows, during a "bale" type practice session (at about 12 yds). It was a very goodday!

Really sorry about that Bernie... That is a drag. It reminds me of part of a story I've been writing in my head for a long time... I'll have to tell
you about it sometime.

I hope you make another one soon. I know you might not want to hear it... But is there a way you could possibly fix that bow? Sounds pretty hopeless, I know,
but...

Like the "Robin Hood" up on the wall with it...

Thanks for sharing the life of this bow with us!

Bernie,

I'm sorry to hear of your lost hunting buddy. When I lose a bow, I usually give it a viking funeral. You decommissioned yours very well, giving it its
proper place of honor.

Yep, that's about the size of it, Alpinbogen, and thanks. I think i will put a similar feather (I have a small bag of them) on my Dano bow now - kinda got
used to that (for wind indication and decoration) hanging there.

Sorry about your "loss" Bernie. But hey, it sounds like you had a couple of good years out of it anyway and now you have a cool wall display. Sinew
patching over a back violation only prolongs the inevitable, IMO. I did the same thing on one of my early bows. It held out long enough to get me through a
hunting season and kill a pair of whitetails, but the limb started the snap, crackle, pop thing and hinged that winter. Mine's on the wall too, along with
another bow, both...
