<p>This little knife is one I like a lot. It has 6&quot; blade with 4.2&quot; handle. I hope it is just the right size for a friend of mine to carry and use.
With luck, he will be able to tell the kids over and over how someone actually made the knife (without machines, without shipping it across the ocean...).</p>

<p>This is the first time I have gone with blued fittings, and I like them a lot. I torched them, but had to follow with birchwood casey for touchup.</p>... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Hi guys. Have&#39;nt had the time to do much posting lately.Here is something I recently finished.This piece was commisioned by a fellow in the US Coast Guard.
He is currently on a cutter boat on the Hudson River in New York, and he wanted me to build him a boat knife he could use on deck cutting lines, ect.He gave me
a size materials list and price range, and specified a blak rawhide sheath. The rest was left up to me, and this is what I came up with.

			<description><![CDATA[ I forged ths Last week when I was waiting for the wrought iron to etch on the bowie. The steel is apiece of file. Handle elk antler and guard and end cap and
wrought iron. It a tang throw with the tang peened over. Polished to 220 sand paper. No edge yet.

			<title><![CDATA[ how do you normalize? ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have done some reading on this subject, but am skeptical of the info I have on hand,  how do you guys normalize, is it really nesccary to point the blade to
magnetic north while doing this?  How hot to you heat to and how long do you cool once you have the blade out of the fire?  could you hang a blade by a wire
through the lanyard hole and let it cool that way?  Really just kinda lost on the subject, any help would be great thanks. ]]></description>

normalizing 3 times as per a tutorial on making a file knife i read.  then I heated to what I thought was non mag and quenched in 140 degree peanut oil.  The
blade did not harden.  I went back to heating the blade and realized that somehow my magnet was no longer working.  So I hunted up another magnet and went back

We replaced a bunch of it on our transmitter tower a few years ago ,and I have a few hundred feet of it laying around . I think it may be aluminium clad high
