I have lived in Iowa all my life, and much to my dismay (as a flintknapper) there is very little knapable material to be found. There are a lot of points
made of a variety of materials found here all the time, but I have yet to find outcroppings or ancient quarry sites that have any stone other than a few small
plates and pebbles of chert/flint that might make bird points. Where's all the big stuff at? Or maybe my question should be is it here at all? Can anyone
