mass of the head helps to make progress in the amount of material removed with one blow. I discovered that many small chips work better than trying to achieve
large chip removal. A pecking kind of rhythm and the beaver technique seemed to work best. The handle kink at the butt end was useful in hanging on to the tool

other saw is a flake of coarse granite

I have seen artifacts called &quot;sinewstones&quot; which consist of small blocks of sanstone maybe 2 inches long with grooves on their flat faces.  I thought
perhaps they were used by sandwiching them beween two stick, and then using pulling the sinew across the groove.  I just made one the other day, making the
grooves by scratching over and over with a slate chip.  I have come to the realization that this type of artifact makes a very, very poor sinew working tool.

look for when collecting stone? and if it is flint will it be any good for as a functional knife?

My daughter and her family live out in the boonys, where there are lots of sandstone outcrops, especially along the roads. Lots of loose stone that can be
picked up. What I&#39;m hoping is that someone here can tell me the best materials to use to make sandstone bowls-to hollow and shape the sandstone. I&#39;m
not sure how hard a sandstone this is-some are tough enough for building materials.

the stump will sprout shoots.  These shoots were purpose grown and harvested at a given size for things like tool handles and walking sticks.  The shoots
tended to be much straighter than branches of a tree and could be molded while growing to a desired shape.  The molding was even done to saplings to make
